”November’s home of the month is a beautifully refurbished farm house in southern Anne Arundel County, originally built in 1905! Fichtner Services replaced the existing tin roof with a beautiful, charcoal gray standing-seam steel roof. In addition to the roof, we also installed James Hardie siding, soffit, and trim, ProVia Aspect windows, and oversized gutters and downspouts which complete the timeless farmhouse look that is extremely low-maintenance!
It is important to keep in mind that the right company is needed when dealing with historic homes. There are always surprises with homes of this age, and this job surely didn’t disappoint. Most historic houses are not square, as our on staff carpenters found when they built the roof overhangs. After removing the siding, we also found that much of the structure and framing was rotted and had to be rebuilt. Fichtner Services was able to give this old house new bones with a great new exterior look! Fichtner Services is proud to be a part of such a great project, with such an amazing looking result!”
