Originating in the late 19th century, Labor Day is a Federal Holiday celebrated on the first Monday of September. Most folks think of Labor Day as the end of summer, a big cookout weekend and the start of a new school year. But by Wikipedia definition, Labor Day “honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the development, growth, endurance, strength, security, prosperity, productivity, laws, sustainability, persistence, structure, and well-being of the country”.
This Labor Day weekend, we would like to honor and thank three very special employees of Fichtner Services. These men, like most of our labor force, are dedicated family men. They are reliable, honest and trustworthy. Their professionalism and pride in their craft makes us a better company. Now, let’s meet the guys!
Douglas Gomez
Douglas has worked for Fichtner Services for 14 years. He started out with us as a full time gutter installer but we soon found out he was looking for bigger challenges. He is now our commercial flat roofing and walkable roof deck expert. He is also very proficient with standing seam metal, gutters and shingle work. Douglas is originally from El Salvador, emigrating to the US with his 2 brothers.
Jose Romero
Jose is also from El Salvador and is a master in metal work and soldering. His copper roofing and flashing installations are like artwork! Jose started working for us in 2003 and he quickly became a crew leader and then a foreman. He is a father to 3 and owns a home in Glen Burnie, but resides in Ohio on the weekends, where his wife and extended family are starting a bakery. He is an invaluable asset to our company.
Jose Rodriguez
Jose is our specialty roofing mechanic as well as our lead gutter man. He has a wealth of knowledge in all roofing systems, including cedar, slate, flat roofing and shingles. Jose also is a master in the arts of guttering and siding. Jose has worked with us since 2003. He is originally from Mexico and now resides in Woodbridge, Virginia, a 1.5 hour commute each way, (with no traffic) with his wife and 4 sons. His dedication has been unbelievable and he elevates our company with his work ethic and craftsmanship.
We have over the years received many, many heartfelt thanks from customers who were thrilled with the craftsmanship of their finished project, as well as the attention to detail that these three exhibit on every job they work on. Their leadership is done with grace and humility and is a key to our success. Our company and community are in a better place because of them. THANKS GUYS!
When Fichtner Services was founded in 1994 we were a mostly new construction shingle installer. As time went on, we became well known in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County and Central Maryland as a custom residential roofing contractor. Our customers were happy with what we offered for roofing services and began to get requests for siding, gutters, windows, doors and more.
Over the years we became certified by several major manufacturers as preferred installers: James Hardie Elite Preferred, GAF Master Elite, Tamko Pro, Marvin Authorized Replacement Contractor, Firestone Red Shield Contractor, and more.
Today, 25 years later, we are a full service exterior remodeling contractor, working with many Custom Home Builders, Property Managers as well as Homeowners to maintain, protect and improve their properties and homes. Because we are certified by manufacturers our customers can be sure that we:
