Project of the Month: Fresh Makeover in Fishing Creek Farm

Our project of the month features a home in the gorgeous Annapolis waterfront neighborhood of Fishing Creek Farm. We started at the top with a new GAF System Plus roof and worked our way down. We replaced the rear flat roof, installing new cedar decking on top, and rebuilt the steps down to the ground. A fresh coat of paint on the siding and windows brightened up the exterior and rounding out the completion is a beautiful new wood front door from Signature.

The project wasn’t without a couple of hiccups.  “During the process, we were able to identify a couple of design flaws from the existing gutters on the screen porch that were causing significant rot that went unnoticed until we started scraping in prep for paint.  We redesigned the gutter and repaired all the rotten framing before installing new siding and staining,” said Nolan Redd, Fichtner Services’ Production Manager.   “After the homeowner did some landscaping changes, it was then made apparent that the screens were in pretty rough shape on the screened porch, so we replaced all the screening on the porch as well.”

All in all, the project went well and the home looks amazing.  Our clients were a pleasure to work with and we look forward to working with them again in the future!
