HOME OF THE MONTH
Thanksgiving Farm Vineyards & Winery
We recently completed a window replacement at beautiful Thanksgiving Farm Vineyards & Winery in Harwood, MD. Doug and Maureen Heimbuch are the proprietors of the Farm, which was built in 1893 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Heimbuchs wanted a window that would keep the historic charm of the house, as well as increase energy efficiency. They chose the Integrity from Marvin line of windows with the simulated divided lights, keeping the historic character. We were able to match the grill patterns of the windows as they were drawn on the original house plans which are hanging on display in the home. Overall, you cannot tell that the windows were ever replaced.
There is a full wine-processing facility, as well as a tasting room. They specialize in European-style dry wines and all of the wines at Thanksgiving Farm are made from grapes grown and harvested there. You can purchase the wine in local fine wine stores as well as on the Farm.
Fichtner Services has been selected by Marvin Windows and Doors to be an Authorized Replacement Contractor. Marvin is very particular in who they select to represent them, which means they go to great lengths to vet and train the Authorized Replacement Contractors When you choose to replace windows and doors with a Marvin Authorized Replacement Contractor (ARC), you are choosing to work with a Marvin specially trained replacement contractor providing unique knowledge and expertise from consultation to quality installation.
““As I reviewed the developed definition of the ideal candidate for the Marvin Windows and Doors ‘Authorized Replacement Contractor’ program, Fichtner Services immediately came to mind. I once heard Susan Marvin say ‘Here at Marvin we have a philosophy to do the right thing with the right people’. Marvin has identified Fichtner Services as a company that also ‘does the right thing with the right people’. Fichtner Services is categorically a market leader as a Replacement Contractor in the Annapolis market and Marvin is proud to be partnered with them.””
